Tips: How to Find My ABN

If you want to run any kind of business in Australia, you need to have an ABN (Australian Business Number). This is a registration number issued by the Australian tax office (ATO), and it allows businesses to carry out commercial activities.  If you don’t already have one, you will need to register for an ABN online. Namecorp can help you with this.

Once you have your ABN, make sure you keep a record or copy of it somewhere safe. Your ABN will stay with you for life, but if you lose it here are some tips to help you find your ABN.

If you registered with Namecorp – it will be in your Namecorp My Office portal, along with all of your legal certificates. We will have also sent a copy to your email.

How to Find Your ABN Through the My Office Portal

  • Visit https://namecorp.com.au/
  • Click on Login in the Quick Links section of the footer
  • Log in with your email address and password

Other Ways to Find Your ABN:

  • One way to look for your ABN is to check any documents you have from the government. Your ABN should be included on your Tax Invoice or any letters the government has sent to your business.
  • Another way to find your ABN is to use the online tool ABN Lookup. This tool lets anyone look up the ABNs of all registered businesses. If your ABN has been registered, it should show up in the record. You can search by your name or ACN (Australian Company Number), and all records that are available to the public, including your ABN, will be shown.

If you have an ABN that is no longer active, you can reactivate it by submitting an online application. Once that is done, your ABN will appear as active again on the ABN lookup.
